About the Apex Singers: Established in 2019 by Artistic Director Ollie Lambert, The Apex Singers are an 8-part vocal ensemble creating innovative vocal music through their unique arrangements and soundworld. Their debut album ‘Hiraeth’ received critical acclaim including two CARAs (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards) and ‘Album of the Week’ on Scala Radio.
The Apex Singers’ outreach work has seen the singers partner with The Hallé to bring inspiring and insightful workshops and opportunities to young vocalists around the UK. While headlining at The International Irish A Cappella Festival in 2019, the group ran workshops and masterclasses with vocal ensembles of all abilities, tailored to help develop and nurture their singing as an ensemble. The Apex Singers have a host of masterclasses available from ‘Creating Your Own Ensemble’, to ‘Vocal Technique and Development’. If you’d like to book a workshop please get in touch.
In the initial UK lockdown, The Apex Singers released a new online series of music videos arranged, recordings, filmed and produced in isolation. This series of monthly releases led the group to receive the accolade of ‘Highly Commended Choir of the Year’ at the 2020 Classical Music Digital Awards.
