The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the International Anthony Burgess Foundation present a discussion of the music of Anthony Burgess. Professor Andrew Biswell, director of the International Anthony Burgess Foundation and biographer of the renowned author and composer talks to leading conductor Mark Heron about Burgess’s musical career, and acclaimed pianist Daniel Browell plays musical examples. The discussion comes ahead of the BBC Philharmonic’s performance of Anthony Burgess’s A Manchester Overture at The Bridgewater Hall on Saturday 28 September, 7.30pm: which kicks off the orchestra’s 2013-14 season celebrating Manchester’s rich contribution to music (tickets here). The discussion is free and all are welcome: please book your place on events@anthonyburgess.org or 0161 235 0776.
