Fokkina McDonnell is a Manchester-based poet. She was born in the Netherlands and has lived in the UK for most of her adult life. Her poems have been broadcast, widely anthologised, published online and in a range of magazines, including Magma, Orbis, The North, Poetry News, Little Mslexia, Strix, The Frogmore Papers, The Journal and Blithe Spirit. Many of her poems have been successful in competitions. Fokkina was awarded the Sonnet Prize in the 2012 Ware Poets Open Poetry Competition. Fokkina will read from her forthcoming pamphlet A Stolen Hour (Grey Hen Press, 2020) and launch her second collection Nothing serious, nothing dangerous which was published by Indigo Dreams Publishing at the end of 2019. Also reading will be some of her Chorlton poet friends.
